Our environmental commitment:
    Our commitment is to identify and implement eco-friendly policies
    To reduce, reuse and recycle materials we are using and minimize our waste going to landfill
    It is our aim to work only with suppliers that are working hard to protect our environment through reducing their packaging and transport to our hotel
    We monitor utility consumption levels on a monthly basis and aim to reduce consumption at every opportunity

Going Green at Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes
    Systems control in place for lighting, heating and air conditioning
    Restrictors in place to control water flow to reduce usage
    Energy saving lighting, dimmers and motion detectors are in place
    We are a member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and have received a Silver Award
    In-house herb garden
    Micro-fibre cloths are being used by our Housekeeping Team
    Replace bed linen every other day unless on request
    Replacing towels in bedrooms on guest request
    In-bedroom and in-meeting room recycling

Local support
    Provide information on walks, wildlife and parks for our guests
    Provide local transport services information to our staff and guests
    We offer a green alternative taxi company to our guests
    Provide cycle hire information along with details of various cycle routes
    Provide complimentary secure bicycle parking for staff and guests
    Use local and organic produce where possible
    Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes regularly takes part in events throughout the year in support of variety of charities

Everyday actions
    Provide newspapers on request to avoid wastage
    Daily monitoring of water/gas/electricity consumption to aid reducing consumption levels
    Bulk purchase of concentrate chemicals
    Refillable chemical containers
    Compact waste so less collections required
    Re-use towels on guest request
    Encourage cycle to work and have provided cycle rack facilities
    Encourage local transport and provide information on their facilities
    Provide walking maps and jogging information to all our guests
    Recycling of paper, plastic, card board, glass, polythene wrappers, tin cans
    Working with one waste collection company for all recycling collection, including plastic, paper, cans, glass, card board and electronic waste. Separate recycling of food, waste cooking oil, toner cartridges, batteries and fluorescent tubes. Future aim is for all waste to be collected by one company
